The CYCLONE-LC-UNIV carries the same stand-alone, button-launch production programming as the LC-ARM, but widens device coverage past ARM Cortex-M to PEmicro’s full universal device list — NXP’s HC08, HCS08, RS08 and HC(S)12(X)/S12Z families, ColdFire V1 through V4, Power Architecture (Qorivva MPC5xxx, MPC5xx/8xx), DSC, and STMicroelectronics’ SPC5, with pipelined programming algorithms that speed up several of the Power Architecture families specifically. It’s the model to reach for when a production line, or a company’s product portfolio, spans both current ARM designs and legacy 8-/16-/32-bit silicon.
