The Saleae Logic Pro 16 is a 16-channel USB Logic Analyzer with dual inputs for analog data logging. It connects to a PC via USB and utilizes Saleae Logic software to record and display both digital and analog signals, serving as a debugging tool for embedded applications.
It helps developers verify functionality or diagnose firmware bugs by attaching to the digital IO used for communication, such as serial, I2C, or SPI. The recorded activity is then displayed in the software, allowing users to compare actual firmware behavior with expected behavior to identify and isolate problems.
For digital signals, it achieves up to 500 MSPS at 4 channels or 100 MSPS at 16 channels (requiring USB 3.0). For analog signals, the maximum sample rate is 50 MSPS at 3 channels, 12.5 MSPS at 13 channels, or 6.25 MSPS at 16 channels.
The device supports a wide range of protocols including Serial, SPI, I2C, CAN, DMX-512, JTAG, LIN, MIDI, Modbus, USB, and many others. It also offers support for custom protocols, making it versatile for various embedded system debugging needs.
