Description
48 to 112 channels at up to 700Mbps per channel
The DG4000 drives digital stimulus onto a board rather than just watching it: a bank of independently programmable channels for exercising a bus without the DUT's own firmware in the loop — replaying a captured trace, walking a memory bus through corner cases, or standing in for a controller that isn't ready yet. It replaces the DG3000, which Acute has now discontinued, at close to double the per-channel data rate.
Why engineers reach for it
- Up to 700Mbps per channel — nearly double the DG3000 it replaces — with 256Mb of pattern depth per channel, enough for a long, realistic stimulus sequence rather than a short looped pattern
- 0.1V level resolution on every channel, so signaling for mixed-voltage buses (1.8V housekeeping next to 3.3V logic, for instance) can be set precisely rather than picked from a coarse preset list
- Ships with default patterns for common protocol/electrical standards including MIPI I3C, SVI3 and SVID, so a first pattern is running before you've hand-built one from scratch
- Three channel counts (48 / 80 / 112) at the same 700Mbps/256Mb spec, so you size the instrument to the bus width rather than over-buying channels you won't use
Where it earns its keep
- Exercising a receiver or bus interface independently of the rest of the system — useful when the driving side of a design isn't built yet, or when you want a repeatable stimulus a live controller can't guarantee
- Replaying a fault condition captured on a logic analyzer, to reproduce an intermittent bug on demand instead of waiting for it to recur in the field
- Margin and compliance testing where a bus needs to be walked through timing or voltage corners well outside what normal firmware would ever generate
